Message to the World Out There

I’ve been waiting to tell the world about this since October: Today’s the day – MyHappyHap is taking off into the alpha launch phase! What this really means is that everybody who’s put his time and effort into this project is waiting for your feedback! Yes, your feedback, from you, the reader of this blog. The HappyHap-Team has contacted their friends, family, fellow students and colleagues with one simple request: Please visit www.myhappyhap.com and tell me what you think of it.

We’re all really excited to see this website go live and would be delighted if you’d make use of it, post up your own HappyHap, maybe leave a comment on the blog and send us your opinion (email: myhappyhap [at] gmail.com).

Let’s take this idea together one step further and make it happen!

Most happily,

Sunnie

Jump-Starting the First Global Happiness Movement

How It All Began...

“The world we live in sucks – It’s just a question of when you’ll admit it to yourself!”

Back in October I had a three hour conversation with a close friend of mine. He couldn’t be right, I thought to myself. “We live in a world which is in a terrible state: Worldwide the economy is crumbling to pieces, global warming is deteriorating our planet, wars, terrorism and mass destruction weapons threaten human existence. It’s bad, don’t you see?” I couldn’t accept his negative outlook on the world as valid and complete. I wanted to cry out: “But it can’t be that I’m the only one who thinks the world is great and life the most beautiful thing I know!”

The Thought Process Behind MyHappHap

When times get tough, we focus in on bad news. Yet, happy happenings and moments still occur. Life holds many little moments of happiness in store – in good and in bad times. Certainly, a lot of people out there are doing lots of great things right now: helping, making other people around them smile, giving care and support, doing good, and making others laugh... In short: Many people in this world contribute to another person’s happiness. Most of these happy happenings however, seem to get forgotten or are buried under a pile of negative feelings.

What If...

But what would happen if you’d create some sort of platform where people could let each other know about these happy happenings? What if all these happy happenings could be assembled for everyone to see? Just imagine how much happiness you’d compile! And then, imagine if you’d find a way to spread these notes of happiness. Maybe some people would get a more positive mindset from reading them. Generally, a more positive mindset makes people more creative, it energizes them, provides the necessary momentum for positive change. Maybe the world would become a better one then. Wow. That’d be really cool!

The idea of MyHappyHap.com was born.

Now, eight months later, my simple idea has turned into a website – thanks to the support of a fellow student and friend.

Making It Happen – You, Me and the Rest of the World

Whether MyHappyHap.com will do all that I thought it might back in October however, is for you to decide. It’s brand new and will become what you make it. Be a pioneer, a visionary and an innovator, and participate in jump-starting the first Global Happiness Movement! Together we can do it, that’s for sure! Post your HappyHap(pening) today, dedicate it to three friends, and get the word out! Also, tell me what you think of the site! I’m 20 years old, an undergraduate student with one year of college experience, and still have lots and lots to learn! I’d be delighted if you could post me a comment with your feedback, questions, concerns or ideas!

Can’t wait to hear from you!

Most happily,
